Quebec Bee Escape Board for Honey Harvesting

Make honey harvesting more efficient with a Quebec Bee Escape Board from Innisfil Creek Honey. Designed for use during honey removal, a bee escape board helps beekeepers clear bees from honey supers before extracting honey, reducing the need to brush or manually remove bees from individual frames.

A bee escape board is installed between the honey supers you want to harvest and the hive below. Bees can move down through the escape mechanism into the lower part of the hive but have difficulty returning to the honey supers above. After allowing sufficient time for the bees to leave, the honey supers can be removed with fewer bees present.

Benefits of Using a Bee Escape Board

• Simplifies honey harvesting: Helps clear bees from honey supers before removal.

• Reduces manual handling: Can reduce the need to brush bees off individual honey frames.

• Supports a more efficient workflow: A useful tool for hobbyist, sideline, and commercial beekeepers.

• Helps prepare supers for extraction: Makes it easier to bring harvested honey supers to your honey house.

• Practical beekeeping equipment: A useful addition to your seasonal honey harvesting supplies.

How to Use a Quebec Bee Escape Board

1. Place the bee escape board beneath the honey supers you intend to harvest, following the board's design and your hive setup.

2. Ensure the board is positioned correctly and the escape mechanism is unobstructed.

3. Allow sufficient time for bees to move down into the hive. The time required will vary with colony conditions and weather.

4. Check the supers before removal and use appropriate protective equipment when handling your bees.

For best results, use the board when conditions are suitable for bee movement and ensure the escape mechanism is compatible with your hive equipment.

Ideal for Honey Producers and Beekeepers

Whether you're harvesting honey from a few backyard hives or managing a larger apiary, a bee escape board can help streamline the honey removal process. It is particularly useful during busy harvest periods when minimizing the time spent clearing bees from supers can improve workflow.
