Buckwheat is a plant that has a vigorous growth making it an exceptional choice for quickly establishing a crop that will suppress weed growth. It produces flowers quickly and for extended periods of time, flowering in as little as three weeks of growth and continue to flower for ten weeks. These flowers attract a large array of beneficial and pollinator insects. Buckwheat is a low water usage crop so it is ideal in dry or wet areas.

Suggested seeding density is 50 lbs per acre
Sow buckwheat from late spring to late summer, whenever a bed will be unused for more than three weeks. Broadcast seed into cultivated soil so that the seeds are about 2 inches (5 cm) apart and one-half inch (1 cm) deep.
